Roderick 'Roddy' Reisinger

Roderick ‘Roddy’ Reisinger, age 59, of Aurora, died Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Memorial Community Care.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 14, 2008 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Rev. Cole Fowler will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. Sunday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Memorials may be made in care of family. OBITUARY: RODERICK ‘RODDY’ REISINGER

Roderick ‘Roddy’ Oren Reisinger, the son of Oren E. and Rosetta (Carnes) Reisinger, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on October 27, 1948 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on July 10, 2008, at the age of 59.

Roderick had spinal minigitus at the age of 3 months, which caused him to be deaf. He grew up on the farm with his parents and three sisters. He enjoyed being outdoors and being with his father. He had a love for animals, especially his horse and dogs.

Roderick had fun playing with his three sisters while growing up and loved to attend all of their activities.

Roderick was baptized in the Evangelical United Brethen Church in Aurora. He enjoyed going to church and Sunday school. During his school age years he was tutored by Jack King and Mrs. Jelinek of Grand Island for sign language.

Roderick attended Special Olympics and won a number of medals. He was with the Mid-Nebraska Individual Services in Grand Island and during this time he worked at the Grand Island Zoo, Burger King and Isle De Grand. He won the “Personal Achievement Award” for the regional area of Mid-NE, which included 22 counties. Roderick received the award to a standing ovation. He was a happy person and liked to make other people happy. Roderick liked to dress nice and loved to shop, most of all he loved to work. He enjoyed looking at pictures of his family.

Roderick’s greatest love, his parents, Oren and Rosetta of Aurora. He is also survived by his three sisters, Linda (Allen) Cetak of Ord, Ann (Jan) Joseph of Valentine and Martha Sue (Wayne) Brehm of Grand Island; 4 nieces and 2 nephews, Melissa Cetak of Dallas, TX, Jason (Melissa) Cetak of Lincoln, Stuart (Kimberly) Brehm of Stromsburg, Brent (Katie Ann) Joseph Johnson of Lincoln, Shad (Holly) Brehm Salmon of Aurora and Beau (Jill Joseph) Austin of Norfolk; great nieces and nephew, Ellie Cetak and Caden Cetak of Lincoln and Ethan Brehm of Stromsburg; and also cousins and numerous friends.

Roderick was always a very important part of the family and was never left out of a family function or holiday.

Roderick we are so proud to have been your parents. You are so special. Love your family.
