Jo Ann Richter

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, February 3, 1983 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Jo Ann Richter

Jo Ann Richter, the daughter of Allen and Elba (Harrington) Hogeland, was born on August 21, 1928, at Bloomington, Nebraska, and departed this life on February 1, 1983, at Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 54 years, 5 months and 10 days.

She attended school in Bloomington and was confirmed in the Methodist Church there. She also worked in a bank in Franklin until her marriage.

On June 20, 1948, she was united in marriage to Roy Richter Jr., at Bloomington. Seven children where born to this union.

Jo Ann was a member of the United Methodist Church in Aurora and was a member of PEO. She had been a sponsor for UMYF, had been a cub scout den mother, and had belonged to Town & Country Extension Club in Marquette.

After her marriage they lived in several places before moving to Marquette in 1967. In 1978 they moved to Grand Island and came to Aurora in 1980. She was employed at the “Village Square” in Aurora since their opening.

A granddaughter Monica Jo Maska preceded her in death.

Those who survive to cherish her memory are her husband Roy; 4 sons, Kim and Rex of Aurora, Terry and Rick of Grand Island; 3 daughters, Claudia Jo Maska of Yankton, South Dakota, Lisa Richter of Aurora and Tricia Hoegh of Hampton; one brother Scott Hogeland of Benkleman; 4 sisters Allene Smith of Gillette, Wyoming, Nancy Schepler of Hebron, Ruthie Meyers of Wilcox and Mary Jane Bienhoff of Omaha; her parents Allen and Elba Hogeland of Bloomington; 13 grandchildren, and many other relatives and close friends.
