Roy Richter, Jr.

Roy Richter, Jr., age 70, of Aurora died Thursday morning, August 24, 2000 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Messiah Lutheran Church. Rev. Al Duminy will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday at Higby Mortuary.

OBITUARY: ROY RICHTER, JR.

Roy Steven Richter, Jr. the son of Roy Steven and Ruth Marie (Gosnell) Richter, Sr. was born at Naponee, Nebraska on September 28, 1929 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on August 24, 2000, at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 26 days.

He grew up in the Republican Valley and graduated from Bloomington High School.

On June 20, 1948, he was united in marriage to Jo Ann Hogeland at Bloomington, Nebraska. The family lived in Naponee, Denver, Colorado, and Hutchinson, Kansas before returning to Bloomington. In 1966, the family moved to Marquette, then in 1980 they moved to Aurora. Roy owned and operated a trucking business for most of his life. Jo Ann passed away February 1, 1983.

Roy was married to Peggy Ann Aye on August 4, 1984.

He enjoyed fishing, camping and family gatherings.

He is preceded in death by his father, his wife Jo Ann, sister, Merna Bergren, brother, Joe Richter, granddaughter, Monica Jo Maska and an infant brother.

He is survived by his wife Peg of Aurora; his mother, Ruth M. Richter of Republican City; sons, Terry and his wife Rita, Rex and his wife Becky of Aurora, Kim and his wife Cindy of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Rick and his wife Natalie of Wathena, Kansas and Corey Goettsche and his wife Jo-Hanna of Aurora; daughters, Claudia Maska and her husband Richard of Yankton, South Dakota, Trish Hoegh and her husband Jerry of Hampton, Lisa Reichardt and her husband Todd of Aurora and Keri Goettsche of Grand Island; 23 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
