Terry K. Rieke
Terry K. Rieke, age 62, of Aurora, died Thursday morning, January 6, 2005, at his home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 10, at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Aurora. Pastors Sheryl and Chris Kester-Beyer will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. on Sunday at the church. Rieke, the son of Willard and Anita (Day) Rieke, was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on December 7, 1942 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on January 6, 2005, at the age of 62. Terry grew up in Chester, Nebraska where he graduated from Chester High School in 1960. He attended Fairbury Jr. College and graduated from Kearney State College where he received his Bachelor and Masters degrees in Education. Terry was an accomplished athlete during his high school and college years. He was united in marriage to Karen Hellbusch on June 10, 1962 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gilead, Nebraska. Terry coached and taught school in Nebraska for twelve years at Campbell, Benkelman, Hastings Adam Central, and Tecumseh. In 1976, he joined LeDoiyt Land Management. He worked for LeDoiyt until 1997. He worked briefly for Hertz Management until he began RGA Farm Management & Realty in 2001. Terry was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, serving on the Church Council. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. Terry was past president of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce and he served on the Aurora Country Club Board of Directors. He was a member of the Aurora Rotary Club as well as being a member of numerous professional farm management and insurance organizations. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his mother. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his father, his wife, one son, Randy (Kellie) Rieke of Lexington, two daughters, Robyn (John) Schultheiss of Kearney and Roxann (Gregg) Holliday of Arlington; 7 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren; 3 great step-grandchildren; a sister, Susan (Ron) Moxham of Lincoln; a sister-in-law, Dawn (Roger) Kendall of Reynolds, Nebraska and a brother-in-law, Norman (Juleen) Hellbusch of Monument, Colorado. |
