Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 15, 1994 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hampton, Nebraska. Interment was held in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Elsie Riekenberg

Elsie C. Riekenberg, the daughter of Ernst and Dorothea (Riggert) Loemker, was born at Odell, Nebraska, on May 5, 1905, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on February 13, 1994, at the age of 88 years, 9 months, and 8 days.

She attended school at Bremen, Kansas, which was just across the border from Odell.

On July 1, 1928, she was united in marriage to Ernst Riekenberg at Bremen, Kansas. They had celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last year.

She was baptized at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Bremen, Kansas, and was confirmed at the same church in 1919. She remained a member of that church until after her marriage. At the time of her death she was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church at Hampton. She was a member of the Ladies Aids and Lutheran Missionary Leagues, where her husband taught in Lutheran Schools in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Nebraska. She also taught Sunday School at Zion Lutheran for a few years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers Harold and Walter Loemker, 4 sisters, Clara Loemker, Lena Frierichs, Olga Loemker, and Minnie Maca.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, Ernst of Hampton; 2 sons, Dennis of Hordville, and Larry of Lincoln; 2 daughters Joann Schardt of Davenport, and Vivian Frost of Fremont; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
