Dean Roberts

Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Friday, September 28, 1990 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Dean Roberts

Dean Melvin Roberts, the son of Clyde and Mary (Schleicher) Roberts, was born at Beaver City, Nebraska on December 17, 1927, and passed away at Ord, Nebraska, on September 24, 1990, at the age of 62 years, 9 months, and 7 days.

He grew up in Beaver City and attended high school in Edison, Nebraska. He worked with his father in farming and did carpentry, then served in the U.S. Army in 1946-47. Afterward he returned to Edison and did construction work.

On May 19, 1948 he married Joyce Hosier at Beaver City. He began trucking, and they lived several places including Holdrege and Loomis. Dean then went to work for KK Appliance and lived in Beloit, Kansas until moving to Aurora in 1963. KK Appliance sold to Wheeler Transportation in 1975, and he continued working for them.

Dean was a member of the United Methodist Church, and Lester S. Harter Post #42 of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 daughter, Judith Ott.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Joyce, 3 sons, Michael of Lincoln, Larry of Aurora, and Patrick of Lovington, New Mexico; 1 daughter Jane Webb of Lincoln, 1 brother Merle of Arapahoe; 3 sisters, Bertha Schrauger of Beaver City, Erma Hardenbrook of Thornton, Colorado, and Wanda Shackleton of Grand Island; 7 grandchildren and other relatives and close friends.
