Barry Robertshaw

Barry Robertshaw, age 53, of Aurora, died Monday, June 28, 2004.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 1st at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Aurora. Rev. Craig Doty and Rev. Victor Derwinski will officiate. Interment will be in the Giltner Catholic Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 3 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora and Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home in Grand Island are in charge of arrangements. OBITUARY: BARRY ROBERTSHAW

Barry Dale Robertshaw, the son of William Jack and Norma Jeanne (Benson) Robertshaw, was born in Hastings, Nebraska on March 26, 1951 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on June 28, 2004, at the age of 53.

He grew up in Giltner and graduated from Giltner High School in 1969 and graduated from Kearney State College in 1973 with a degree in Business Administration.

He was united in marriage to Jeanne T. McMahon on September 9, 1978 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Giltner. He was employed as an assisted administrator of Hamilton Manor under Earl Strong. Following Earl Strong's retirement, he became administrator and had worked in that capacity for the past 30 years. During this time, he established the two Alzheimers units.

Barry attended St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was a member of the Optimist Club serving as a past president; a member of a traveling pool team and the City of Aurora Board of Adjustment. He coached his daughter and son's ball teams when his children were young. Barry was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed golfing.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Jeanne Robertshaw of Aurora; daughter, Jocelyn Ann Robertshaw of Kansas City; son, Ryan Christopher Robertshaw at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; parents, William J. and Norma Robertshaw of Giltner and in-laws, Bernard and Petronella McMahon of Giltner. He is also survived by three brothers, Jack (Christina) Robertshaw of Aurora, Jerry (Mary Jane) Robertshaw of Giltner and Tom Robertshaw and friend Catrina Schrock of Giltner; three sisters, Jean (John) Cates, Paula Robertshaw and Peggy (Patrick) Bell all of Giltner, an aunt Peggy Schlingman of Merritt Island, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews. Brothers and Sisters-in-Law, Thomas (Pam) McMahon, Patrick (Patty) McMahon, Joseph (Betty) McMahon, John (Dianne) McMahon, Mary (Daniel) McMahon Schartz, Margaret Anne (Randy) Carrier, Catherine (Denis) Bachman, Rita (Scot) Harmon, Anne (Mark) Pittard, and Marilyn (Todd) Williams.
