Phyllis Rodabaugh

Phyllis Rodabaugh, age 83, formerly of Marquette, died Friday, March 26, 2010, at Mt. Carmel Home in Kearney.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday, March 29th at the Higby-McQuiston Chapel in Aurora. Rev. Scott Jones will officiate. Interment will be in the Richland Cemetery. OBITUARY: PHYLLIS RODABAUGH

Phyllis Eloise Rodabaugh, the daughter of John N. and Cecelia (Roesch) Grotzky, was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on January 2, 1927 and died in Kearney, Nebraska on March 26, 2010, at the age of 83.

Phyllis grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High School Class of 1945. She worked at Consumer’s Public Power District as a secretary for several years.

On May 8, 1949, she was married to Emery Weldon Rodabaugh at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Grand Island. Emery worked for the FAA as an electronics maintenance engineer. This job took them to Laramie, Wyoming, Rock Springs and Pierre, South Dakota before returning to the Marquette area. Phyllis stayed at home to raise their four children. Emery passed away on April 2, 2005. Phyllis received care for her Alzheimer’s at the Mt. Carmel Home in Kearney after Emery’s death.

Phyllis was a member of the United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, Bible School and was in various church circles.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Tom (Vickie) Rodabaugh and Bruce (Glenda) Rodabaugh all of Marquette; two daughters, Pat (Gary) Brouillette of Elm Creek and Soni (Rick) Grint of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and a brother, Don (Reinette) Grotzky of Norfolk.
