Lester Rohde

Lester G. Rohde, age 86, of Hampton died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday afternoon at the Zion Lutheran Church north of Hampton. The Rev. Loren Cooper will officiate. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M., Friday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora.

OBITUARY: LESTER ROHDE

Lester G. Rohde, the son of Carl and Henrietta (Dose) Rohde, was born in Hamilton County, on September 2, 1912 and died at Aurora, Nebraska on April 21, 1999, at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 19 days.

On March 19, 1937, he was united in marriage to Norma Smith at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Polk. He was a long time Hamilton County farmer. After retiring from farming in 1976, they moved to Hampton. He enjoyed crafts and woodworking and had made many things for friends and relatives.

Lester was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church near Hampton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Richard and Raymond; two sisters, Ella Wandersee and Edna Peetzke; two grandsons, Kevin Buller and Scott Martin preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife Norma Rohde of Hampton; two daughters, Kathy Buller and her husband Bob of York, Lavera Martin and her husband Ron of Panama; three grandchildren, Wanda Buller and her husband Royce of Hampton, David Buller and his wife Carrie of York and T.J. Martin of Lincoln; 5 great grandchildren.
