Mildred Ross

Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 27, 1993 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Mildred Ross

Mildred Mae Ross, the daughter of James and Nana (Sheen) McVey, was born at Sutton, Nebraska, on June 30, 1910, and died at Lincoln, Nebraska, on July 23, 1993, at the age of 83 years, and 23 days.

She grew up and graduated from Sutton High School, took normal training at Hastings College, and then taught school for 6 years.

On August 6, 1933, she was united in marriage to Jona Ross, at Sutton. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1989. After their marriage, they lived in Stockham, and in 1940, they moved to Aurora. In 1941 they moved to Omaha, in 1943 to San Francisco, 1946 to Sutton, then to Bellevue, and in 1951 they returned to Aurora.

Mildred was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, belonged to the Church Circles, and taught Kindergarten Sunday School for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Lester and Delmar McVey; 2 grand daughters, Natalie Ross, and Peggy Oswald Neal; one great grandson, and one son-in-law, Richard Oswald.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are one son Gary Ross of Las Vegas, Nevada; 2 daughters, Jerolyn Oswald of Bountiful, Utah, and Linda Happy of Kansas City, Missouri; 2 brothers, Arlo McVey of Tucson, Arizona, and Chester McVey of Tehachapi, California; one sister, Viola Hicks of Billings, Montana; 4 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
