Fern RoszhartFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, September 21, 1994 at the Aurora Pleasant View Bible Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Fern Roszhart Fern Lucille Roszhart, the daughter of Emanuel and Katie (Rocke) Oyer, was born June 2, 1914, at Meadows, Illinois, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on September 18, 1994, at the age of 80 years, 3 months, and 16 days. She grew up in central Illinois and graduated from Chenoa, Illinois High School. On June 27, 1934, she was united in marriage to Herbert P. Roszhart, Sr., at Meadows, Illinois, and they lived in central Illinois until they moved to Aurora with their family in 1943, to minister at the Pleasant View Mennonite Church for 12 years. Herbert preceded her in death on May 8, 1975. On December 6, 1946, the Roszharts opened the Christian Book and Gift Shop in Aurora. Fern remained active in the store until 1993. She also assisted her husband in ministry at the Bethel Mission Church in Aurora and the Stockahm Community Church. She was a member of the Aurora Pleasant View Bible Church, and she and her husband had been active in Youth for Christ and Crusade for Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Lester Oyer; one sister Viola Knott, and one grand daughter Tami Sawyer. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son Herbert P. Roszhart, Jr., of Aurora; one daughter Karen L. Sawyer of Gothenburg; two brothers, Clarence Oyer of Meadows, Illinois and Alvin Oyer of Forrest, Illinois; one sister, Aldine Sommer of Meadows, Illinois; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren. |
