Lucille Ruebsamen

Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, February 1, 1992 at the Giltner United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Giltner Cemetery.

OBITURARY: Lucille Ruebsamen

Lucille Esther Ruebsamen, the daughter of Peter and Mary (Baumann) Lorensen, was born on a farm south of Doniphan, Nebraska, on August 6, 1905, and died at Lincoln, Nebraska, on January 28, 1992, at the age of 86 years, 5 months, and 22 days.

At the age of 5 years the family moved to a farm north of Gothenburg, Nebraska, and in 1914, they moved to Grand Island, Nebraska, where she attended the Elementary and Senior High School, graduating in 1923. After graduation she attended Kearney State College and received her A.B. Degree from Hastings College. She taught 25 years in the Hall County Schools and 12 years in the Giltner Schools.

On June 3, 1951, she and Dean Ruebsamen were united in marriage at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Grand Island, Nebraska. They made their home on a farm south of Giltner, until 1966, when they moved into Giltner.

Lucille was a member of the Giltner United Methodist Church, and was active in the church circle. She also belonged to the Retired Teacher’s Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 sisters, Ethel Lorensen and Edith Mellman.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, Dean of Giltner; 5 sons, Darrel of San Antonio, Texas, Dale of Huntington Beach, California, Neil of Grand Island, Marvin of San Jose, California, and Wilbur of Santa Maria, California, 2 daughters, Beverly Arne of Brigham City, Utah, and Merna Valen of Santa Ana, California; 25 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.
