Eva RunyanFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 12, 1990 at Mason City Baptist Church in Mason City, Nebraska. Interment was held in the Mason City Cemetery. OBITUARY: Eva Runyan Eva Blanche Runyan, the youngest child of George and Eva (Sprunce) Snider, was born at David City, Nebraska, on December 26, 1894, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on April 8, 1990, at the age of 95 years, 3 months, and 12 days. She lived in Butler County and attended rural school and high school in Seward County. In 1911, her parents moved to Custer County and she attended Mason City High School, graduating with the class of 1912. On October 22, 1913, she and Wright Runyan were married at Broken Bow. They considered Mason City their home, except for three years spent in Thomas County, and a few years when Wright worked at electrical construction at various places in Nebraska and Colorado. Wright preceded her in death on December 21, 1966. In 1976, Eva moved to Aurora where she lived until her death. Eva was a member of the Mason City Baptist Church since 1912. She joined the Rebekah Lodge in 1918, and served many years as secretary of that organization, as well as nearly all offices. In 1962, she joined the Order of Eastern Star and served in many offices as well as Worthy Matron. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Richard, 2 daughters, Una Mae Zeleski and one in infancy; three sisters, one brother, one granddaughter, and one great granddaughter. Those who remain to cherish her memory are 3 sons, Dean and his wife Leah, of Merced, California, Donald and his wife Glea of Indianapolis, Indiana, and James and his wife Barbara of Lincoln; one daughter Ruth Traudt and her husband Peter of Aurora; one sister-in-law Fern Runyan of Mason City; 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. |
