Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Monday, March 27, 1995 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held at Richland Cemetery in Marquette, Nebraska.

Florence Helen Russell, the daughter of Peter J. and Antonia Sophia (Miller) Holtz, was born north of Central City, Nebraska, on October 28, 1912, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, following a lengthy illness, on March 23, 1995, at the age of 82 years, 4 months, and 25 days.

Her father died when she was seven years old. She grew up near Central City, and graduated from Central City High School.

On October 10, 1931, she was united in marriage to Howard K. Russell at Fullerton, Nebraska. They spent their lifetime farming in the Marquette Community. Form many years, Florence assisted the family participating in area horse shows. She was a long time member of the Hi Neighbor Extension Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother John Holtz, and two sisters Clara Long and Ruth Beck.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband Howard, of Marquette; 3 sons, Robert L. and his wife Darlene, of Grand Island, Thomas of Lamar, and Melvyn and his wife Sylvia, of Marquette; 5 daughters, Beverly Gustafson and her husband Richard of Aurora, Rosalie Russell of Marquette, Sandra Mankin and her husband Wendel of Aurora, Karen McClure and her husband David of Palmer, and Nancy McDonald and her husband Larry of Aurora; 19 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.
