Gerald RussellFuneral Services were held 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 5, 1990 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Gerald Russell Gerald Dealton Russell, the son of Lory and Hettie (Comstock) Russell, was born at Ansley, Nebraska, on May 4, 1907, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on January 1, 1990, at the age of 82 years, 7 months, and 27 days. He grew up and graduated from Ansley High School in 1926. On March 7, 1927, he was united in marriage to Irene Hyatt at Smith Center, Kansas. She preceded him in death on September 5, 1983. After their marriage he was employed by the Custer County Road Department and the Ansley Power Plant, and in 1944 they moved to Aurora where he worked at the Farmer’s Union Creamery for 25 years, from 1944 to 1969, when he retired. He was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Irene, and one brother Kenneth, a granddaughter, and a great-grandson. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his 3 sons, Richard of Aurora, Larry of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Keith of Casper, Wyoming; 3 daughters, Naomi Hammond, of Aurora, Doris Senff of Lincoln, and Lois Janzen of Hampton; one sister Lucille Springman of Salt Lake City, Utah; 21 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. |
