Harry Saddler

Harry Saddler, age 96, of Aurora, died Wednesday night, November 13, 2002, at Memorial Community Care in Aurora.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, November 18th at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Rev. Seth Leypoldt will officiate. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery near Trumbull at 1:00 P.M. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. Sunday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. OBITUARY: HARRY SADDLER

Harry Vernon Saddler, the son of Farmer and Nina (Sunday) Saddler, was born at Juniata, Nebraska on September 11, 1906 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on November 13, 2002, at the age of 96.

Harry was born and raised in the Juniata-Prosser area. As a young boy he attended Dist. 29 near Juniata. As a young man he worked construction helping to build Highway 6. For a time Harry worked for the railroad and then in the hay fields in western Nebraska.

Harry was united in marriage to Dorothy May Dominy on August 1, 1937 at her parent's home near Hansen. They moved to Minitar where Harry worked in a sugar beet factory and then later moved near Kenesaw, where they farmed and raised turkeys. In 1955, they moved to a farm east of Giltner, where Harry continued to farm and work part-time for Bish Welding. In 1966, he bought Baasch Welding in Aurora. In the fall of 1967, they moved to Aurora. Dorothy passed away on September 2, 1993. Harry entered Memorial Community Care in the spring of 1997

Harry was a member of the Blacksmith Association and the Cornhusker Camping Club. He enjoyed camping and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and his brother, William Saddler.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Grant Saddler and his wife Lois and Dale Saddler and his wife Carol all of Aurora; 3 grandchildren, Tim Saddler and his wife Tracy of Lincoln, Steve Saddler and his wife Martha and Suzanne Dixon and her husband Troy all of Aurora; 3 step-grandsons; 6 great-grandchildren and a sister, Harriet 'Jackie' Kemling and her husband Paul of Aurora.
