Adeline Salmon
Adeline Salmon, age 79, of Phillips, died Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Hamilton Manor. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 5th at the Evangelical Covenant Church. Pastor Karl Larson will officiate. Interment will be in Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 P.M. Monday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. OBITUARY: ADELINE SALMON Adeline Marie Salmon, the daughter of Jim and Evelyn (Morss) Reisinger, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on July 10, 1929 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on May 2, 2009, at the age of 79. She grew up on the family farm west of Aurora and attended country school through the 8th grade. Adeline married Vernon ‘Bud’ Salmon on July 6, 1946 at Kansas. To their union they had two children: Doug and Doris. They farmed southwest of Aurora their entire married life. She enjoyed raising flowers and playing cards with family and friends. Adeline enjoyed bowling for over 45 years and attending the State Tournament for 40 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jack Reisinger and an infant sister. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bud Salmon of Phillips; son, Doug (Nancy) Salmon of Aurora; daughter, Doris (Ross) Groelz of South Lake Tahoe, California; 4 grandchildren, Andy Groelz, Ryan Groelz, Amy Macy and Laura Fortney and 3 great-grandchildren, Jack, Taylor and Bella. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Oren (Rosie) Reisinger of Aurora and Aaron (Mary Mae) Reisinger of Grand Island and 5 sisters, Ines Oswald of Aurora, Iola Lantzer of Aurora, Mary (Ray) Larson of Grand Island, Audrey (Jerry) Weedin of Grand Island and Ruth (Otis) Shiller of Texas. |
