Marion Salmon

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 4, 1988 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Marion Salmon

Marion Rollo Salmon, the son of Walter and Mabel (Anderson) Salmon, was born at Stockham, Nebraska, on August 6, 1915, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on October 1, 1988, at the age of 73 years, 3 months, and 24 days.

He grew up and attended country school near Stockham.

On August 12, 1939, he was united in marriage to Thelma Lewis at Grand Island. They farmed near Stockham, and in 1982, they moved into Aurora.

Marion was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Farm Bureau, had received the Longtime Pork Producers Award, had been an ASCS Committeeman, had served on the District #5 school board, and had been a 4-H leader.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Donald Salmon.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Thelma of Aurora; 3 sons, Jim and Roger of Aurora, and Doug of Spencer, Iowa; 4 daughters, Kathryn Obermier and Becky Kliewer both of Aurora, Virginia Rice of Chapman and Nancy Salmon of Everly, Iowa; one sister Margaret Quick of Huntsville, Alabama; 17 grandchildren, 3 great-granddaughters and 1 great grandson.
