Steve SalmonGraveside Services were held 1:30 P.M., Friday, May 28, 1993 at the Aurora Cemetery. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Steve Salmon Steve Edgar Salmon, the son of A F “Shorty” and Luella (Delano) Salmon was born at Aurora, Nebraska, on December 23, 1936, and died at Grand Island, Nebraska, on May 25, 1993, at the age of 56 years, 5 months, and 2 days. He grew up southwest of Aurora, and attended country school, and Aurora High School. In September of 1955, he was united in marriage to Sharlene Van Pelt at Archer, Nebraska. Two children were born to this union. He lived in Grand Island and worked as a diesel mechanic for Priest Trucking, and then moved to North Platte and worked as a diesel mechanic. He then began trucking as an over the road trucker, until he was involved in a serious accident in 1972, in Mound City, Missouri. He recuperated over a period of years, and then began working for R & C Petroleum in North Platte. In 1978, he moved to Cozad with the same company. In 1980, he began working for Pro Oil in Cozad. Due to failing health he retired in 1988, and resided in Cozad until 1990, when he moved to Hordville, and recently has been living in Central City. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Those who remain to cherish his memory are one son Tracy Salmon of Grand Island; one daughter April Smith of Grand Island; 4 brothers, Rex of Santee, California, Alvin of Grand Island, Danny of Central City, and Alfred of Santee, California; 3 sisters, Pauline Day of Phoenix, Arizona, LuAnne McDonald of Phillips, and Venida Carlstrom of Polk; his mother Luella Salmon of York, one aunt, Agnes Derr of Grand Island, and 4 grandchildren. |
