Doris Samples

Doris Samples, age 97, of Aurora, died Friday, December 11, 2009, at Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 15th at the First Christian Church. Pastor Sam Fox will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: DORIS SAMPLES

Doris Alberta Samples, the daughter of Ora and Grace (Scovill) Meese, was born in Hamilton County, Nebraska on June 29, 1912 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on December 11, 2009, at the age of 97.

She grew up in Giltner and graduated from Giltner High School.

On September 5, 1928, she was united in marriage to Bruce Kingston. To this union they had four children: Melva, Roger, Jimmy and Grace. Doris worked for Hesteds, J. M. McDonald’s and several other businesses in Aurora. Bruce passed away on April 5, 1958.

Doris was married to Kee Samples on December 20, 1959. Kee passed away on November 4, 1999.

Doris was a member of the First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; son, Roger Kingston; grandson, Mike Kingston, two brothers and three sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jimmy Kingston of Red Cloud; two daughters, Grace (James) Nordlund of Phillips and Melva Jean Haack of Bradshaw; two step-sons, Jim (Cheryl) Samples of Estero, Florida and Ken (Carmen) Samples of Wake Forest, North Carolina; 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great great-grandchildren.
