Memorial Services were held 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 20, 1996 at Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Alberta Sandin

Alberta Sandin, the daughter of Elwin and Emma (Titman) VanBerg, was born in Aurora, Nebraska, on May 27, 1914, and died at San Diego, California, on April 28, 1996, at the age of 81 years.

Alberta graduated from Aurora High School in 1925, and went to work in Iowa at the Iowa-Nebraska Public Power Company. She then worked and lived in York for a few years until she married Lt. Bill Sandin of the U.S. Army, living in Aurora. Upon the early death of her husband, she then moved to Lincoln where she was employed in an investment company with Ellis/Holyoke. Always looking to do the best that she could, she moved to San Francisco, then lived in Denver with Edna Fowler until finally living the last 20 years in San Diego, where she was employed in a real estate office.

Alberta Sandin will always be remembered as a person who gave her all for the job and for her loved ones around her. She carried tremendous responsibility for those who she watched out for as well as going the extra mile for those who needed her. If someone wanted help in any way, Alberta was always there to take care of the situation, giving love, affection and caring until that person could recover.

She had a sense of humor, tremendous work ethics and a love and loyalty for job and above all family, which never wavered until she could no longer bear the burden.

Until the last few weeks of her life, she always looked a lot younger that her 81 years and was still working in her office every day. She was truly a wonderful person who will be missed by those who knew her, worked with her and loved her dearly. Her life made an impact on the quality of life which we all strive to achieve.

Alberta was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Zuspan, sister Mary Laurie, sister Visa VanBerg, brother Marion H. VanBerg, brother Baltis VanBerg, and her parents.

She is survived by her sister Edna Fowler of San Diego, and her brother Leonard of Escondido, California, and many nieces and nephews and many close friends.
