Christine Schaffert

Christine "Tena" Schaffert, age 84, of Aurora died Sunday morning, February 24, 2002, at Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. Rev. George E. Damm will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: CHRISTINE "TENA" SCHAFFERT

Christine K."Tena" Schaffert, the daughter of John P. and Margaret K. (Miller) Miller, was born on the family farm near Stockham on October 21, 1917 and died February 24, 2002 in Aurora Nebraska at the age of 84.

Tena grew up on the family farm and graduated from Aurora High School. On March 19, 1939, she married Rudolf Fred Schaffert at the Salem Lutheran Church in Hampton, Nebraska. They moved to a farm northeast of Aurora, and in 1954, they moved to a farm southwest of Aurora, where they continued farming until retirement. Tena resided the last few years at Memorial Community Care. "Rudy" passed away on June 11, 1998.

Tena enjoyed gardening and raising flowers.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rudolf, brothers Alfred, Edward, Emil, Kenneth and LeRoy Miller and one grandson, Robert Jr.

Tena is survived by her four sons, Richard and his wife Stella of Aurora, Donald of Ashby, Nebraska, Ronald and his wife Joyce of Park Ridge, Illinois and Robert and his wife Ilka of Sete Lagoas, Brazil; 7 Grandchildren; 5 Great-Grandchildren; one sister, Pauline and her husband, Vern McConaughey and many nieces and nephews.
