Geneva Scherff
Geneva Scherff, age 88, of Aurora, died Friday, September 7, 2007, at Memorial Community Care in Aurora. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, September 11th at the Presbyterian United Church of Christ in Aurora. Rev. Monty Nelson will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. on Monday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 P.M. OBITUARY: GENEVA SCHERFF Geneva Ann Scherff, the daughter of Amos and Ola (Casey) Williams, was born in Elijah, Missouri on November 15, 1918 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on September 7, 2007, at the age of 88. Geneva grew up in Ozark County, Missouri and attended Valley Star School. On December 13, 1938, she was united in marriage to Clifford Scherff in Pottersville, Missouri. After their marriage they lived in Caulfield, Missouri before moving to the Stockham area in Hamilton County in 1946. They moved to Aurora in 1980. Clifford preceded her in death on May 15, 1999. Geneva was a member of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ in Aurora. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Edward Williams and sister Blanche Barton. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her three sons, Lee (Carole) Scherff of Clay Center, Jerry Scherff of Aurora and Roy Scherff of Houston, Texas; brother Dwight “Whitey” (Susie) Williams of Mountain View, Missouri, sisters, Eutha (Wayne) Taylor of West Plains, Missouri and Betty (A.V.) Langston of West Plains, Missouri; six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. |
