Gary Schleichardt, Sr.
Gary Schleichardt, Sr., age 62, of Aurora, died Friday, October 5, 2007, at Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, October 9th at the Zion Lutheran Church north of Hampton. Rev. Loren Cooper will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery at 1:30 P.M. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Monday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. The family will greet friends from 5 – 7. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com. OBITUARY: GARY SCHLEICHARDT, SR. Gary Edward Schleichardt, Sr., the son of William Edward and Ethel (Meyer) Schleichardt, was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on October 30, 1944 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on October 5, 2007, at the age of 62. He grew up in Grand Island and attended Lincoln School through the 8th grade. Gary was united in marriage to Lois N. Werth on October 18, 1964 at Zion Lutheran Church north of Hampton. They lived in Grand Island until 1970, when they moved to Aurora. Gary worked in Grand Island at Hyde House, Diamond Engineering, Andy’s Rendering and Redmand’s Trailerhouse. He worked at Bonnavilla for 26 years before retiring in 1998. Gary was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. He loved to fish and hunt. Gary also liked to cut scrap iron. He enjoyed playing cards and visiting with his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Delores Grotsky; four brothers, Ron, Bob, Bill and Gene Schleichardt and brother-in-law, Everett Wiley. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lois Schleichardt of Aurora; two children, Gary Schleichardt, Jr. and his wife Sandra of Aurora and Dotty Schleichardt of Doniphan; 6 grandchildren, Jacob, Nicholas and Jessica Schleichardt, Tyler Schleichardt and Richard and Adriana Aguliar; 3 sisters, Betty Wiley of Grand Island, Shirley (Leonard) Boguslaw of Cairo and Sandy (Bob) Schoenstein of Grand Island and many nieces and nephews. |
