Lauretta SchmidtFuneral Services were held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, April 27, 1989 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Harvard Cemetery in Harvard, Nebraska. OBITUARY: Lauretta Schmidt Lauretta M. Schmidt, the daughter of Herbert and Anna (Halloran) Rynearson, was born at Hastings, Nebraska, on February 12, 1913, and passed away near Giltner, Nebraska, on April 23, 1989, from injuries sustained in a car accident, at the age of 76 years, 2 months, and 11 days. She grew up and attended school at Hastings. On April 5, 1933, she was united in marriage to Charlie Read. After their marriage they farmed in the Trumbull, Giltner, and Aurora communities. Charlie preceded her in death on July 10, 1958. On September 19, 1959, she married Frank Schmidt, at Haven, South Dakota. They resided in Haven. Frank preceded her in death on November 11, 1973. In 1975, Lauretta moved to Aurora. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora, and belonged to the Altar Society. She was also actively involved in the Senior Citizens Group in Haven and Aurora. She was active in AARP, Widowed Persons, the Hospital Auxiliary and ACID Committee. Lauretta was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one daughter in infancy; one brother, Carl Rynearson, and one sister Gladys Bassett. Those who remain to cherish her memory are 2 sons, Gerald S. Rynearson of Wood Dale, Illinois and Lawrence Read of Walnut Creek, California; one daughter Eileen Eastman of Giltner; step-children, Jeanette Schaefer, of Haven, South Dakota, Rosie Adler of Aberdeen, South Dakota, LeRoy Schmidt of Glenwood, Illinois, Rich Schmidt of Tucson, Arizona, and Diane Bechard of Gillette, Wyoming; 31 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. |
