John Schneider

Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, June 3, 1986 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Catholic Cemetery.

OBITUARY: John Schneider

John William Schneider, the son of John B. and Minnie (Ziller) Schneider, was born at Hampton, Nebraska, on June 26, 1902, and passed away at his home in Aurora, Nebraska, on May 31, 1986, at the age of 83 years, 11 months, and 5 days.

He grew up in the Hampton and Aurora area and attended the Hampton Schools. He then began farming.

On November 4, 1947, he was united in marriage to Leona Darveau, at Rullo, Nebraska.

They moved into Aurora in 1949 and John retired 10 years ago. He had worked for the Hamilton County Noxious Weed Control several years and was also in business with Adolf Nielsen for several years. The past few years he has helped his nephew Jim Schneider in the Aurora Coast to Coast Store.

John was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and had attended mass on the morning of his death. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Joseph Schneider, and 2 sisters, Karherine Erdman and Frances Bermaster.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Leona; one brother, Father Paul Schneider of Blair, Nebraska; 4 sisters, Sister Beata of Villa Gesu, St. Louis, Missouri, Sister John M. Baptist, of Hastings, Madeline Hultquist of Omaha and Theresa Cockayne of DanBury, Iowa, and many other relatives and friends.
