Jim Schneider

Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, November 16, 1991 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Catholic Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Jim Schneider

James Richard Schneider, the son of Joseph and Marie (Wilscam) Schneider, was born at Aurora, Nebraska, on May 9, 1941, and died November 13, 1991, at Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 50 years, 6 months, and 4 days.

He grew up in Aurora, and graduated from Aurora High School with the class of 1959. He then attended Milford Trade School for 2 years, and the Grand Island School of Business for one year. He was employed by Wortman Motors for several years, was superintendent of grounds and buildings at the Aurora Public Schools, and operated the Wards Catalogue Store. In 1980, he and his wife purchased the Aurora Coast to Coast Store, which he has ran for the past 11 years.

On December 29, 1962, he was united in holy matrimony to Margaret Joyce at Aurora.

Jim was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora, and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He also belonged to the Aurora Jaycees, the Chamber of Commerce, Optimist International, and was instrumental in the success of A’ROR’’N ‘90’s. He served on the Board of the Aurora Development Corporation, and belonged to the Aurora Diplomats. He had served on the Aurora City Council since 1982, and was presently representing the First Ward.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister Dorothy.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Margaret of Aurora; 3 sons, Kevin and Jeff of Lincoln, and Jason of Overland Park, Kansas; one daughter Lisa Schneider of Aurora; 3 brothers, Leo of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bernard of Powers, Oregon, and Robert of Grand Island; and one sister Margaret Fitzgerald of Denver, Colorado, and a special friend, “Spike”.
