Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Monday, October 7, 1985 at the Phillips United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Phillips Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Ella Schnell

Ella Josephine Schnell, the daughter of Jonas and Christine (Tjalle) Nodland, was born at Harvard, Nebraska, on July 4, 1890, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on October 4, 1985, at the age of 95 years and 3 months.

She grew up and attended country school in Clay County.

On December 7, 1910, she was united in marriage to Peter Schnell, at Harvard, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on October 20, 1957.

After their marriage they farmed in Clay County. In 1932, they moved to a farm 8 ½ miles west of Aurora. In 1958, after the death of her husband, she moved into Aurora, and in 1977, she entered the Hamilton Manor, where she has since resided.

Ella was baptized on August 14, 1890 in the Evangelical Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Mrs. Albert Ruebsaman, one brother, Sam Nodland and one grandson, Keith Coffey.

Those who survive to cherish her memory are her daughter, Twila Coffey of Phillips; 2 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and nieces, nephews and other relatives and close friends.
