Zola Schoonover

Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 25, 1983 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Mrs. Zola Schoonover

Zola E. Schoonover, the daughter of John and Elvira Brooks Teter, was born at Hamburg, Iowa, on January 8, 1896. Her death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska on June 23, 1983 at the age of 87 years, 5 months and 15 days.

As a young girl she came with her parents and family to the vicinity of Hampton, Nebraska.

In 1912 she was married to Clarence Conser. Two sons were born to them. They resided in South Dakota for a short time and later moved to Clay Center, Nebraska.

On November 12, 1941 she was united in marriage to Albert Schoonover at Nebraska City, Nebraska. They farmed for a short time and then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where her husband was employed by the Burlington Railroad. In 1945 they moved to Spokane, Washington where he was employed by the Kaiser Company, retiring in 1960. In 1964 they came to Aurora where they were residing at the time of her husband’s death on February 20, 1971. She had continued to make her home here.

Mrs. Schoonover was a member of the First Christian Church while residing in Aurora and was active in church attendance as long as her health permitted.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Johnny Conser; three brothers, Roy, Rufus and James Teter and four sisters, Mary Teter, Cora Anglin, Myrtle Peters and Edna Miller.

Her survivors are one son, Melvin Conser and his wife, Ruth of El Paso, Texas; two grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and other relatives and close friends.
