Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 2, 1986 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Grand Island. Interment was held in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Island.

OBITUARY: Paul Schuster

Paul Carl Schuster, the son of Frederick and Fredericka (Tiemeyer) Schuster, was born at Phillips, Nebraska, on April 8, 1902, and passed away at Hastings, Nebraska, on April 29, 1986, at the age of 84 years and 21 days.

He grew up in the Phillips area and attended Deering School District #32.

On October 6, 1926, he was united in marriage to Helen Stulken, near Phillips. She preceded him in death on December 20, 1984. They farmed south of Phillips until he retired and moved into Aurora in 1969.

Paul was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Grand Island, and also belonged to the Platt-Duetsche Society and the Grand Island Eagles Club. He was a director of Deering School board for several years, and was a member of the Council of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, south of Phillips, which is now gone. He also helped to organize the Phillips Rural Fire District.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, Herman, and one sister Emma Schuster.

Those who survive to cherish his memory are 3 sons; Donald of Phillips, Gordon of Grand Island and William of Phillips; 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and close friends.
