Reuben SchwarzGraveside Services were held 12:00 P.M., Thursday, February 5, 1998 at the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Reuben Schwarz Reuben Schwarz, the son of Henry and Leona (Griess) Schwarz, was born August 11, 1918, at Sutton, Nebraska, and died January 28, 1998, at Newport Beach, California, at the age of 79 years, 5 months, and 17 days. He grew up and received his education at Sutton, and attended the University of Nebraska. He worked for the U.S. Government in Washington D.C., and was drafted into World War II, where he served in the South Pacific with the U.S. Army. After the war he married and had four children, eventually settling in Colorado, where he worked for the U.S. Post Office. In 1958, he married Betty Joan Nelson. The family relocated to Southern California, where a daughter Jane was born. In 1968, he obtained political science and education degrees from California State University, in Fullerton, and began hi 17 year career as a social worker. Upon his retirement from the County of Orange he used his talents to serve St. Mark’s Congregation. He was preceded in death by his parents; 8 brothers and sisters, and a son Aaron. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Betty of Santa Anna, California; one son Mark; 3 daughters, Jane Schwarz, Iris Evola, and MariAnn Leggat; 3 brothers, Arthur, Gilbert and Hugo Schwarz; 2 sisters, Gertrude Hundt, and Luella Griess; and 4 grandchildren. |
