Aileen Scott

Aileen Scott, 92, of Bellwood, died Saturday, December 20, 2008 at David Place in David City.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 23rd at United Methodist Church in Bellwood. Rev. Glen Hubbard will officiate. Interment will be at the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery at Kronborg. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. OBITUARY: AILEEN SCOTT

Aileen Margaret Scott, the daughter of David E. and Sarah A. (McMulleen) Chipps, was born in Clear Creek, Nebraska, on September 4, 1916, and passed away at David City, Nebraska, on December 20, 2008, at the age of 92.

She grew up on a farm near Bartlett, Nebraska. Aileen went to country school near her home for 8 years. She moved with her family to Ericson, where she went to high school. When the family moved back to the farm, she then graduated from Bartlett High School in 1936. Aileen worked at the Cornhusker Ordinance Plant in Grand Island for three years.

On September 16, 1945, she was united in marriage to Richard Jensen Scott, at the home of her parents near Bartlett. They lived in Aurora for several years, then they moved to Platte Center. After they moved to Columbus, Aileen worked at Dale Electronics for 17 years. They moved to Quartzsite, Arizona for five years, and in 1989, they moved to Bellwood. Richard passed away on October 6, 1990.

Aileen was a member of the United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Women’s Circle and sang in the church for special occasions. She was also a member of the Rebecca Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Red Hat Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; a brother, Lawrence Chipps and sister, Lola Hoerle

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her five children, Letha (Bill) Goff of Kansas City, Missouri, Dwayne (Jeannie) Scott of Sturgis, South Dakota, Karen (Larry) Bazer of Bellwood, Gayla (Kenneth) Schmid of Bellwood, and Alta (James, Jr.) Chollar of Columbus; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and a great-great grandson.
