Ronald ScottFuneral Services were held 1:00 P.M., Friday, January 24, 1992 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Ronald Scott Ronald Mands Scott, the son of Walter and Mary (Mands) Scott, Scottish immigrants, was born at Aurora, Nebraska, on October 2, 1917, and died at Hastings, Nebraska, on January 21, 1992, at the age of 74 years, 3 months, and 19 days. He grew up in Aurora, and attended Aurora Public Schools. On July 27, 1941, he was united in marriage to Frances Payne of Stockham, at Aurora. She preceded him in death on October 26, 1968. “Scotty” served his country during World War II, from December 16, 1942, until January 6, 1946, serving in France in the U.S. Army. He worked at the Aurora Public Schools for many years, and later worked at Baehr’s Red & White Grocery, until his retirement. In 1985, he moved to Hastings to be near his family, where he managed an apartment building, until he entered Perkins Pavillion at The Good Samaritan Village in July of 1989. “Scotty” was a member of the Aurora Presbyterian United Church of Christ, and the Aurora V.F.W. Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his son and daughter-in-law Douglas and Connie Scott of Lincoln, his daughter and son-in-law Diana and Ronald Hayes of Hastings, 5 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. “Scotty” was very involved with his family. He was a wonderful father, excellent grandfather, and the light of his great grandchildren’s lives. He will be missed by all. |
