Richard Scott

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 9, 1990 at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Kronborg. Interment was held in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Richard Scott

Richard Jensen Scott, the son of Emil and Anna Marie (Jensen) Scott, was born on a farm in Hamilton County, near Aurora, Nebraska, on May 13, 1915, and passed away at David City, Nebraska, on October 6, 1990, at the age of 75 years, 4 months, and 23 days.

He grew up in the Aurora area, and attended rural Hamilton County Schools. At an early age he went to Oregon and worked for the Cornacopia Gold Mines and also for Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, Washington. He also attended college in Washington for 3 years. He then moved back to Nebraska, and worked at the Cornhusker Ordinance Plant in Grand Island.

On September 16, 1945, he was united in marriage to Aileen Chipps, at the home of her parents near Bartlett, Nebraska. After their marriage, he ran a blacksmith shop in Aurora; then they moved to Platte Center, where he worked at Behlens of Columbus in the research department. In 1976, he retired and they moved to Quartzsite, Arizona for 5 years, and in 1989, they moved to Bellwood.

Richard was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at Kronborg.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Hjlmar.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Aileen of Bellwood; one son Dwayne of Grand Island; 4 daughters, Letha Goff of Kansas City, Missouri, Karen Bazer, Gayla Schmid, and Alta Chollar, all of Bellwood; 3 sisters, Edith Petersen of Elkhorne, Iowa, Nita Larson of Harland, Iowa, and Evelyn Beyer of Burbank, California and 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
