OBITUARY: Dean Shaneyfelt

William Dean Shaneyfelt, the son of William and Charolett (Blades) Shaneyfelt, was born May 15, 1914, at Aurora, Nebraska, and died February 18, 1994, at Aurora, Nebraska, at the age of 79 years, 9 months, and 3 days.

He grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School with the class of 1932.

On March 5, 1938, he was united in marriage to Virginia Jones, at Osborne, Kansas.

He worked in the retail lumber business until his retirement in 1976. He enjoyed his years of retirement gardening, handicapping the horse races and spending time with his family.

Dean was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Betty Vetter, and an infant sister Isabel.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Virginia, of Aurora; 2 sons, Bill and his wife Sandra of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Mark and his wife Connie of Aurora; one brother Joe and his wife Mary of St. George, Kansas, 3 sisters, Alene Gleason and Maysel Pedersen, both of Seward, and Doris Vetter of Aurora; a brother-in-law, Lynn
