Leola Sims

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, June 19, 1989 at the Giltner United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Giltner Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Leola Sims

Leola Louise Sims, the daughter of William and Bessie (Wood) Griffin, was born at Madison, Nebraska, on February 19, 1906, and passed away at Grand Island, Nebraska, on June 15, 1989, at the age of 83 years, 3 months, and 26 days.

She grew up at Madison and graduated from Madison High School in 1923. She graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in 1929.

On June 18, 1932, she was united in marriage to Melvin C. Sims at Grand Island.

After her marriage she continued private nursing in the Giltner area. She also kept busy with her home and family and many hobbies, which included gardening and sewing.

Leola was a member of the Giltner United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, Melvin of Giltner; 2 sons, Richard and Gerald both of Grand Island; 2 daughters, Rosemarie Consbruck of Juniata and Carol LaBrie of Doniphan; one sister, Fern Samples of Medford, Oregon; 16 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
