Claude Smith

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 13, 1989 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Claude Smith

Claude Milburne Smith, the son of Emanuel and Nevada (Toof) Smith, was born at Giltner, Nebraska, on September 14, 1918, and passed away at his home southwest of Aurora, Nebraska, on February 10, 1989, at the age of 70 years, 4 months, and 2 days.

He attended country schools near the farm where he was born, and he continued farming the same farm until retiring, and then he worked for the Alfalfa Mill and Fontanell Hybrids, and also worked at various other jobs.

On April 5, 1941, he was united in marriage to Cecile Stewart at Kearney.

Claude was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, William, Ralph, Henry, Wesley, and Edwin, and 2 grandchildren.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Cecile; 5 sons, Larry of Boise, Idaho, Ron of Aurora, Jim of Giltner, Kenneth of Aurora, and Phillip of Giltner; one daughter Karen Hendrickson of Lincoln; one brother Frank of Aurora; 4 sisters, Esther Oswald, Alice Oswald and Fern James all of Aurora, and Maybelle Andrews of Portland, Oregon; 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
