Frank SmithFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Monday, March 26, 1990 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Frank Smith Frank Emanuel Smith, the son of Emanuel and Nevada (Toof) Smith, was born at Giltner, Nebraska, on July 25, 1908, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 22, 1990, at the age of 81 years, 7 months, and 27 days. He grew up and attended Giltner Rural School. On May 29, 1932, he was united in marriage to Fern Potter, at York. They farmed near Giltner. In 1934, they moved to Loveland, Colorado, and in 1937 they moved to Stamford, Nebraska, and in 1943 they moved to Phillips, Nebraska. They were always engaged in farming and raising livestock. In 1977, they retired and moved into Aurora, and since retirement, Frank had done janitor work at the Aurora Co-op, did yard work and mowing, and continued to raise livestock. He was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, William, Ralph, Henry, Wesley, Edwin, and Claude. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Fern of Aurora; one son Dr. Dennis Smith of Aurora; 2 daughters, Jeanine Wasco of Allentown, Pennsylvania, and Jaceel Dubbs of Grand Island; 4 sisters, Esther Oswald, Alice Oswald, and Fern James all of Aurora, and Maybelle Andrews of Canby, Oregon; 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 2 step-great grandchildren. |
