Clayton Snider

Clayton Snider, age 80, formerly of Bertrand, died Monday, January 29, 2007, at Golden Living in Fullerton.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, February 1st at the Kearney Cemetery. Rev. Larry Michael-Rush will officiate. Visitation will be 3 – 8 Wednesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7. Memorials may be made in care of the family. OBITUARY: CLAYTON SNIDER

Clayton LeRoy Snider, the son of Ivan and Violet (Russell) Snider, was born in Kearney, Nebraska on April 4, 1926 and died in Fullerton, Nebraska on January 29, 2007, at the age of 80.

He grew up in the Lisco area. Clayton attended school through the 8th grade at School District 33 in Garden County. Clayton served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He served in Germany in the 6th Armored Division under General Patton.

Clayton settled in the Betrand and Lexington area. He had a custom harvest crew along with his farming duties. Clayton owned and operated a tree service for many years. He was a carpenter and was able to build several houses and do remodeling for others. Clayton loved horses. He raised horses on his farm. He speculated on horses, cattle and hogs. Clayton moved to Aurora in 2000 to be closer to his son and family. Clayton moved to Fullerton in 2004 due to his health.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Jean (Snider) Atterberry, brother, Marion Titus Snider and niece, Judy (Snider) Brummet.

Clayton is survived by his son C. Scott (Monica) Snider of Aurora; two granddaughters, Vicki Snider of Lincoln and Rebecca Snider of Aurora; brother, Ivan (Phyllis) Snider of Beaver City; sister-in-law, Betty Snider of Kearney and many nieces and nephews.
