Mary Lucille (Wanek) Snow

Mary Lucille Snow, 87, died Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Heritage Club at Greenwood Village, Colorado.

The Rosary will be held at Horan & McConaty at 6:00pm on Sunday January 28, 2007. Funeral services will be Monday January 29, 2007, 1:00pm, at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. Interment will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, February 3rd at St. Joseph Cemetery in Giltner, Nebraska. Contributions may be made to the Hospice of Metro Denver. OBITUARY: MARY LUCILLE (WANEK) SNOW

Lucille was born in Wisner, Nebraska to Michael Dennis and Elizabeth (Murphy) McGuire on December 12, 1919. She graduated from Wisner High School in 1938 and from Creighton University School of Nursing in 1942. She worked as a surgical nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska from 1942 to 1952.

On June 14, 1952, Lucille was married to Dr. Frank W. Wanek and they made their home in Gordon, Nebraska. Following Frank’s death in 1972, Lucille married John W. Snow on March 16, 1976. They made their home in Darien, Connecticut and returned to Denver upon retirement. Lucille was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed quilting, gardening and exercise. She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church.

Lucille is survived by her husband John; her sons John Wanek and wife Jane, Ft Collins, Colorado and James Wanek and wife Julie, Highlands Ranch, Colorado; daughters Elizabeth Wanek, Greensboro, North Carolina, Mary Wanek Morroni and husband Craig, Denver, Colorado and Theresa Wanek, McCook, Nebraska; stepsons Thomas Snow and wife Christy, Grand Junction, Colorado, Michael Snow and wife Katherine, Greenwood Village, Colorado, James Snow and wife Kathy, Littleton, Colorado; stepdaughters Mary Snow Shonsey and husband James, Centennial, Colorado and Margaret Snow Tobin and husband Peter, Centennial, Colorado; sisters Eileen, Margaret and Myrtle Mae; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank and her brother Gerald and sisters Elizabeth and Suzanne.
