Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, May 23, 1983 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: John W. Snyder

John Wesley Snyder was born June 1, 1922 at Aurora, Nebraska the son of Morris W. and Edythe Anderson Snyder. His death occurred at Omaha, Nebraska on May 19, 1983, at the age of 60 years, 11 months and 19 days.

John spent his boyhood in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School.

He served in the United States Air Force in the Pacific Theater at Iwo Jima, during World War II.

After his discharge in 1946, he entered the University of Nebraska and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature and later received his Masters Degree in Journalism.

After graduation he was employed as a secretary for the Peter Kewitt Company and worked in Greenland in the capacity for two years. He worked for a time as a free lance photo journalist in Paris, France.

He was in business in California before moving to New York City where he has since been employed by CBS Television in various positions during the past 24 years.

John was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church.

His father and grandparents had preceded him in death.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his mother, Mrs. Edythe Snyder of Aurora, several aunts, cousins and many friends.
