Ivan Soper

Ivan Soper, age 58, of Aurora, died Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Memorial Hospital.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 28th at the Monroe Evangelical Free Church. Rev. Dr. Richard Seefried will officiate. There will be no visitation provided. OBITUARY: IVAN SOPER

Ivan Glen Soper, the son of Ira and Collette (Monroe) Soper, was born in North Platte, Nebraska on August 13, 1951 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on March 25, 2010, at the age of 58.

Ivan grew up in Ogallala and graduated from Ogallala High School Class of 1970. Ivan received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the University of Nebraska.

On May 17, 1975, he was married to Susan Lenore Behrens in Cozad, Nebraska. Ivan taught in Taylor, Nebraska as a Vocational Education Teacher and FFA Advisor for 17 years. They moved to Aurora in 1994, where Ivan became the Vocational Education Teacher and FFA Advisor at Aurora High School.

Ivan was a member of the Monroe Evangelical Free Church and was very involved in FFA.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Susan of Aurora; two sons, Nicholas and Jonathan Soper both of Lincoln; parents, Ira and Collette Soper of North Loup; 5 brothers, Leslie (Edith) Soper of Grand Island, Earl (Bev) Soper of Norfolk, Loren (Kim) Soper of Keystone, Stan (Tammy) Soper of Ord and Maurice (Cindy) Soper of Neligh; father-in-law, Robert Behrens of Cozad; brother-in-law, Mike Behrens of Cozad; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many, many friends.
