Theresa Bader SopherTheresa Bader Sopher, age 92, of Aurora died Monday, December 2, 2002, at Memorial Community Care in Aurora. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, December 5th at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Aurora. Fr. Craig Doty will officiate. Interment will be in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Giltner. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora, with the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. OBITUARY: THERESA BADER SOPHER Theresa Julianna Sopher, the daughter of Leo and Petronella (Buecker) Bader, was born in Rhineland, Missouri on December 11, 1909 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on December 2, 2002, at the age of 92. She received her early education at Starkenburg, Missouri and moved to Seward County, Nebraska in 1926. Theresa attended the Grand Island School of Business. Theresa was united in marriage to Warren Richard 'Dick' Sopher on November 10, 1930 at Grand Island, Nebraska. The couple resided in various Nebraska & Kansas Communities, where Warren was employed as an electrician by Union Pacific Rail Road. Mr. Sopher passed away on May 9, 1965. Since that time Theresa has resided in Aurora. She was employed as a nurse's aide at Memorial Community Care. She was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she was a dedicated member of the St. Victor's Altar Society Circle. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, William Eugene, granddaughter, Pamela Rubeck; a sister, Barbara Guthmann; two brothers, Urban and Alois Bader and an infant brother. Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, James M. Sopher of Sequin, Texas and John J. Sopher of Browns Mill, New Jersey; one daughter, Lois Aldrige of New Lenox, Illinois; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons. She is also survived by one brother, Jerome Bader of Hampshire, Illinois and three sisters, Mrs. Genevieve Sopher of Aurora, Sr. Mary Barbara Bader of Grand Island and Mrs. Bernard McMahon of Giltner and many nieces and nephews. |
