Eleanor Springer

Eleanor Springer, age 98, of Aurora, died Thursday, May 20, 2010, at Memorial Community Care.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, May 24th at Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. Rev. Mark Hartley and Rev. Marlin Rasmussen will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 P.M. Sunday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Aurora Public Library. OBITUARY: ELEANOR SPRINGER

Eleanor Mae Springer, the daughter of Charles A. and Ada (Schertz) Kraus, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on March 27, 1912 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on May 20, 2010, at the age of 98.

Eleanor, a life-long resident of Hamilton County, graduated from Aurora High School Class of 1929.

Eleanor was united in marriage to Ralph B. Springer on December 20, 1933 in Lincoln. Eleanor was bookkeeper at the Farmers Union John Deere dealership for 24 years. She also worked as a genealogy researcher at the Aurora Library for 19 years. Ralph passed away on April 7, 1991.

Eleanor was the oldest member of Pleasant View Bible Church. She was a member of the Happy Hour Extension Club and volunteered at the Aurora Library. Eleanor enjoyed her many friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Janet Zimmers of Overland Park, Kansas, Cheryl Shaw of Lone Tree, Colorado and Carol Grell of Lincoln; 4 grandchildren, Amy (Grell) Chastain, Sara Grell, Ryan Shaw and Michael Shaw; 2 great-grandchildren, Dalton and Devin Chastain.
