Paul Springer

Paul Springer, age 84, of Aurora, died Friday, November 30, 2007, at the Hamilton Manor.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, December 4th at the Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. Revs. Rick Prettyman and Marlin Rasmussen will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. on Monday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Memorials may be made in the care of the family. OBITUARY: PAUL SPRINGER

Paul R. Springer, the son of Christian and Matilda (Stiegemeier) Springer, was born in Giltner, Nebraska on March 9, 1923 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on November 30, 2007, at the age of 84.

Paul graduated from Giltner High School in 1941 and completed several college courses.

Paul was married to Bessie Oswald on May 8, 1942 at Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. They farmed in the Aurora/Giltner community before moving to Aurora in 1953. Paul then became parts manager at Farmer’s Union for 10 years. They then owned and operated Springer Oil Company until 1980. After his retirement, Paul sold irrigation equipment for R & K Irrigation in Aurora. Bessie passed away on May 25, 2001. He spent the last 2 ½ years at Hamilton Manor.

Paul was a member of Pleasant View Bible Church. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters and two brothers.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his four daughters, Judy Swenson of Aurora, Connie Yeutter and her husband Jerome of Branson, Missouri, Carolyn Johnston, Jim Johnston of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Patricia Peters and her husband Reynold of Beach Park, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a sister, Glenda Nelson of Ewa Beach, Hawaii.
