Alma StaatzGraveside Services were held 10:30 A.M., Monday, August 10, 1998 at Hampton Cemetery. OBITUARY: Alma (Dawkins) Staatz Alma (Dawkins) Staatz was born to Christopher and Olga (Rosenlocher) Weifenbach on January 15, 1909, at Battle Creek, Iowa, and died August 4, 1998, at Great Falls, Montana, at the age of 89 years, 6 months, and 19 days. She was a baker in the Aurora Bakery, worked as a cook in the old SYA Café and Wortman’s Café in Aurora. During World War II she and her husband, Willis Dawkins, worked at the Cornhusker Ordinance Plant in Grand Island, and the Naval Ammunition Plant in Hastings. In 1960, she moved to Great Falls, Montana, and worked for the Police Department, and retired there as a meter maid. She was preceded in death by one son Duane, 5 brothers, and 5 sisters. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband Robert Staatz of Great Falls, Montana; two sons Bill Dawkins of Brush, Colorado, and Robert Dawkins and his wife Loretta of Grand Island; two daughters Deloris Reed of Albion, and Donna Kolor and her husband Jim of Salem, Oregon; two brothers, Alfred and Henry Weifenbach of Mapleton, Iowa; 29 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. |
