Jim Higby is an Aurora native, earned his Nebraska Funeral Directors license in 1967, and has served the area as a third generation funeral director with Higby mortuary since. He is a member of, and is active in, the United Methodist Church, and other community activities and organizations. He is married to Linda, and has 2 children, Paul and Ann, who each live in Denver. Jim is proud of serving as a licensed professional, and being able to assist area friends in their time of need.

Mike McQuiston is co-owner of Higby Mortuary and has been a licensed funeral director/embalmer since 1987. Mike is a member of St. Mary’s Church and serves as financial secretary for the Knights of Columbus and is active in the Church’s Godparent Program. He also serves on the Aurora Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Aurora Rotary Club. Mike and his wife Linda have two children, Laura, age 13 and Ben, age 9.

Linda McQuiston works part-time for Higby Mortuary. She handles the paperwork involved for funerals and running of the office. Linda has received her life insurance license to sell pre-need arrangements.

Kenneth Howland is an Aurora native and graduated from Aurora High School in 1999. Kenneth graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a Business Administration Degree in 2004. He is a recent graduate of the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service and received Valedictorian of the class. Kenneth will be working with Higby-McQuiston Mortuary as a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. Kenneth was recently married in July to Stacey (Thomas), of O'Neill, Nebraska.
