Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 11, 1997 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kronborg, Nebraska. Interment was held in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Johanne Stauning

Johanne R. Stauning, the daughter of Rasmus Christian and Ane Johanne (Lollike) Rasmussen, was born in Hamilton County, Nebraska, on January 10, 1904, and died at St. Paul, Minnesota, on September 25, 1997, at the age of 93 years, 8 months, and 16 days.

She grew up and received her education near Marquette, Nebraska, and graduated from Marquette High School. She then attended Grandview College at Des Moines, Iowa.

On August 31, 1932, she was united in marriage to Anthony B. Stauning at Kronborg. He preceded her in death on October 12, 1986.

She had lived at Tyler and Bagley, Minnesota, Boise, Idaho, Kronborg and Lincoln, Nebraska, and following the death of her husband she moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, to be near her children and grandchildren.

Johanne was a member of The First Lutheran Church in Lincoln.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Bernhardt, a daughter Irene; 5 brothers Otto, Peter, Walter, Fred, and Harold Rasmussen; and 2 sisters Clara Hermansen, and Anna Rasmussen.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her 2 sons, Alfred of San Angelo, Texas, and Richard of St. Paul, Minnesota; one daughter Eva Converse of Greeneville, Tennessee, 12 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
