Lyle Stevenson

Lyle Stevenson, age 80, of Aurora, died Saturday evening, October 26, 2002, at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 30th at the First Christian Church in Aurora. Rev. Mary McQueen will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: LYLE STEVENSON

Lyle Ray Stevenson, the son of Ray and Zora (Coffey) Stevenson, was born in Hamilton County, Nebraska on December 21, 1921 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on October 26, 2002, at the age of 80.

He was raised on the family farm in Hamilton County. Lyle attended country school through the 8th grade. He left school to help his father on the family farm.

Lyle was united in marriage to Kathleen Crawford on June 2, 1943. Over the course of their married life, they farmed near Aurora, Loup City and Phillips. They retired to Aurora in 1978.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Elaine Wagner and an infant sister, Bonnie Mae and one infant granddaughter.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathleen of Aurora; four children, Garland Stevenson of Hanson, Kentucky, Gary Stevenson of Aurora, Roger Stevenson and Linda Boyce both of Grand Island; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Duane Stevenson of Bolus and a sister, Donna Hosier of Giltner.
