Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, September 3, 1998 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Leona Stewart

Leona E. Stewart, the daughter of Orville and Grace (Grimes) Williams, was born at Pittsfield, Illinois, on July 18, 1907, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on August 30, 1998, at the age of 91 years, 1 month, and 12 days.

She grew up in Hamilton County, attended country school, and graduated from Aurora High School. Following graduation, she attended Lincoln School of Commerce.

On March 29, 1935, she was united in marriage to Ross C. Stewart at Lincoln. They resided in Kansas City, Chicago, and New York, prior to retiring in Rancho Bernardo, California. He preceded her in death on June 8, 1985. She suffered a stroke, and on August 15, 1995, she entered Memorial Community Care at Aurora.

She was a member of the Aurora First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, Clyde, Merlin, and Hayward Williams, and one sister Lucille Sautters.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are one brother Orville, of Chadron; two sisters, Florine Kelly of Aurora, and Mary Peetzke of Hampton, and nieces and nephews.
